Theft management in supermarkets
The Nalyx Anti-theft block shows how many thefts the store suffers, with photos and source. Nalyx keeps the theft register, tracks unknown shrinkage against the target, and prepares a video evidence file for a theft confirmed by a person. No theft alert is sent by notification: everything is viewed in Security.

The theft register
Every reported theft goes into the theft register, with its photos and source. A person confirms or dismisses it: nothing is treated as a theft until a human has checked it. Photos of a dismissed signal are deleted at once; photos of a confirmed theft are kept as long as it stays in the register.
Unknown shrinkage
Unknown shrinkage is the gap between book stock and the stock counted at stocktake. Nalyx tracks unknown shrinkage as a percentage of sales excluding VAT, against the store's target, and sets it against recorded thefts, wastage and unscanned deliveries, which often explain part of it.
The evidence file
For a confirmed theft, Nalyx prepares an evidence file: an encrypted MP4 video without sound that follows the scene. The file is available for download only; it is deleted 4 hours after its first download, or 7 days after it is made available.
No alerts, no accusations
Nalyx sends no theft alert to phones or by email. Thefts are viewed in Security, calmly, by the person whose role it is, when they have time to deal with them, without interrupting work on the shop floor. A machine does not name a culprit: the machine gathers evidence, a person decides.
What is kept
- Confirmed theft: its photos, as long as it stays in the register.
- Dismissed signal: photos deleted at once.
- Evidence file: deleted 4 hours after download, or after 7 days.
- Never any sound.
